How do you calculate the cost of the additional diversity due to an Engineering Change Request (ECR)?
During Engineering phase, your customer can ask you to make a change in a proportion of his product. For example, you were working on product A, now he wants 50% of product A and 50% of product A with an additional process.
You need to identify all the over costs due to this change.
* Additional workforce, material, tools and machines are generally easy to identify and assess.
* What about the diversity cost (additional references)? : I use additional surface in my plant, my logistician has a bigger workload due to additional references to manage etc.
